I wouldn't say its a "so easy, my grandmother could do it" type job, but its not rocket science. I say this assuming you're willing to turn a few screws and be hands on. I'm far from an expert on this, there are some great sites which i think you referenced above. Once you do this, you will find the bounce. People suggest using talc on the grommets and sprinsg so they turn easier. This is done by actually turning the spring itself. Once you get the platter level (make sure you do the adjustments with the heavy platter, mat and a junk record on) you can then work on getting the bounce. You'll quickly see that if you tighten them too much, it tops out, you'll find a happy medium. I very slightly tightened (and loosened) the three nuts on the springs, this is just to level the platter. I put the turntable on the edge of my speakers so i could get under it while it was upright and level so i could see what my adjustments were doing. The way i did it was to take the bottom off of the table. I decided to use my original springs but the new rubber grommets and thats what I was able to get working. The Linn srpings were too stiff and again couldn't get it to bounce. I finally replaced the springs and grommets with Linn parts. I couldn't get my 160 super adjusted to save my life. Click to expand. You certainly can get it yourself.
